Market Tavern Gig

Matt was in the crowd and he has this to say,

Last night I ventured into Oxford to the Market Tavern to listen to a couple of bands. Among them was a band called "One Dollar Peep Show". Their sound was similar to Garbage in their hay-day with a bit of Goldfrapp thrown in. Worth a listen, but not your usual sort of rock music.

Shhhh...you know who

One Dollar Peep Show played a secret gig last night at The X in celebration of Oxford's premier songstress, Chantelle Pike's, birthday. Despite a technical hitch that rendered most of their synthesizers inaudible, 1DPS delivered a storming set of pure electro- punk rock 'n' soul music that had the crowd (most of whom were dressed in drag) hollering for more.

FOREVER LIKE RED+ THE PLAUDITS + ONE DOLLAR PEEP SHOW + NOT MY DAY

Wed 14th March - Oxford Zodiac downstairs

One Dollar Peep Show are currently promoting their debut album 'Showreel', released on the Weird City Electric Company label. Surely the only band to have been compared to both Portishead and the B52's in the same review, 1DPS have recently been garnering rave reviews for their occasional live performances. Ranging from brooding to euphoric, their sound mixes electronics and live instruments in a way that is utterly unlike new rave- and all the better for it.

The One Dollar Peep Show party bus pulled into Oxford last week, to scenes of hysterical fandom reminiscent of The Fab Four's first tour of the U.S. Once safely hidden away from the panty-wetting crowds of adoring teenage admirers our heroes

Singled Out - Missive 110 - Losing Today

Here's the thing....it's nice to google yourself sometimes to find out all the nice things people are saying about ya.....and today we found this.

‘Singled Out - snot, sniffles and snazzy sounds’

Yes indeed - this particular edition of Singled Out has been a real labour of love assembled in a piecemeal fashion while under the influence of large doses of paracetemol, lemon, honey, anti decongestives and lashings upon lashings of Jack Daniels and though none of the bastards appear to have worked we have enjoyed our new found pastime of trying to remember what day it is and exactly when a group of barn dancing midgets wearing steel tipped boots took up residence in our head to belt out what can only be described as a persistent slam dance all nighter.

One Dollar Peep Show get a mention in this edition of Losing today Magazine. Read more here
